FinTech Initiatives

FinTech is a term coined by combining "Finance" and "Technology". It describes initiatives that leverage digital technologies to make financial services more convenient and effective.

It has been widely adopted in various aspects of the society such as cashless payments, online financing, home economics and budgeting apps, and automated asset management. In the recent years, these types of services have been paired with cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and Blockchain. Further advancements are anticipated.

In anticipation of evolving as a FinTech company, we, at AIFUL, are promoting the in-house development of a system that allows us to develop and build our own systems and UI/UX. Accordingly, we aim for providing services that can respond quickly and flexibly to ever-changing customer needs and provide a smooth experience that does not rely on human operators.

AIFUL Group aims to essentially review the quality of its financial services from root up, aiming to simultaneously improve customer experience value and streamline operations.

With in-house development of our design areas including data analysis and UI/UX, we are able to move through the PDCA cycle speedily to promote our business while striving for harmony with tech innovation.

This allows us to create a competitive edge as one of the few non-bank businesses with a tech department.

We have 418 IT professionals on staff (including 327 specializing in Digital Promotions and Marketing, 68 in Data Analysis, and 23 in Design). This is an over 80-times increase since we started strengthening our capabilities in 2019 with five people on staff.

Employing "Scrum" (a method of Agile Development), AIFUL is building a speedy and flexible development system. By iterating development and improvement over a short period of time, we aim to respond quickly and flexibly to ever-changing customer needs to implement high-quality services.

Having a dedicated, in-house development department has enhanced coordination with the on-the-ground teams, allowing us to establish a development system that allows us to respond swiftly to work-related issues and requests. As we are able to implement the feedback on our products received from our on-the-ground teams immediately, we can continuously provide easy-to-use systems that align with the actual work of the on-the-ground teams.
